LDS Church among protestants of the SNWA Water Grab

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that the LDS Church has protested some of the wells that the Southern Nevada Water Authority wants for export of up to 65 billion gallons of groundwater annually through a 300 mile long pipeline to support growth in Las Vegas. The paper quoted a Church spokesman that the water rights are "critical to the overall operation of [the] livestock program" at the Church's ranch and are threatened by the pumping and water export scheme.
